I’m Kayla Kohn
Kansas born, raised, and staying!
Lifelong student, painter, photographer, mother, and wife.
I learned how to use the camera from my time in the Air Force as a Public Affairs Photojournalist.
I’ll be honest, I don’t really love photography. Instead, I love PORTRAITS and PEOPLE and I love capturing PORTRAITS OF PEOPLE and moments in peoples lives — who they were for that one moment in time. And I love using the camera as a tool to capture an image of someone in hopes that it speaks to them, to their family about who they were then. I love being in that space for just a moment, walking around and looking through the lens and trying to become invisible. Trying to capture a moment almost gone unnoticed – who they were.
I want to capture the moments in-between staring at the camera lens.
how I shoot –
Lifestyle photography is another title for candid photography that you’ll find out there on the internet. Unposed and just easy. I shoot families, babies, couples and weddings in this style. Check out my portfolio for the feel.
Invest in capturing the moment now and you’ll look back and remember not only what you looked like but the preciousness of the memory and the story of your life.
