Amber | Lifestyle Newborn Session | Kayla Kohn Photography

I remember first thing as I walked into Amber’s house and she greeted me, she said, “I feel like I already know you.” And what a wonderful feeling that was.

I kind of felt like I knew her too. That’s the power of social media and following others. I regularly post to my instagram and share my daily life in the stories feature and she follows me. She felt because she had seen me on there that it was like she knew me already which was a great start to an epic session.

Her love for her two daughters is overwhelming. She waited for Blakely Reese patiently and she was a blessing rainbow baby. I know her heart and her family were overjoyed when Blakely was born, even it was just a little too early. We had planned on a fresh 48 session originally but I wasn’t able to make into the room with the little one being born early.

Her newborn session has some great qualities. One, everything in her home is very bright and almost white. This helps the natural light reflect and bounce of walls and adds so great lighting to the photos. Two, she prepped her spaces well and cleared everything off her walls and tables which gives a nice clean backdrop to just capture the family in. She also had a white comforter which was such a nice backdrop to just capture the baby’s details. We only used two rooms for the majority of the session.

Along with her beautiful baby and family, her home and her preparation really made this session a breeze.
